Orthodontic treatment is much more than just getting your teeth straightened out. In order to recommend the ideal treatment for your unique bite and facial features, Dr. Levens will need to asses several clinical factors. Such as: Is the problem dental, skeletal, or both? Is the jaw joint (TMJ) affected by the problem? What treatment options are appropriate and will achieve the most optimal results? When should treatment begin? How long will treatment take? He will also want to discuss your goals for treatment and make sure you know what to expect. We know you will have several questions as well. Such as: How will my braces look? What will I be able to eat? How much will treatment cost? What type of financing is available? We are here to answer these questions for you so that you can make an informed decision about your orthodontic treatment. That is why your first visit to Levens Orthodontics includes a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Levens. We will take digital photographs of your face and teeth which will aid in determining and discussing your treatment options with you. Dr. Levens will be able to share his initial findings and treatment recommendations with you during this first appointment.
As a courtesy to you, there is no fee charged for this initial examination. We will contact your general dentist prior to your appointment and request that any applicable x-rays be forwarded to our office. As an additional courtesy, we will contact your dental insurance carrier to obtain a breakdown of your orthodontic benefits for you. Once you and Dr. Levens have decided on a course of treatment will review fees, insurance benefits, and financing terms with you so that you can feel confident proceeding with your treatment.
Your On-going Appointments
If Dr. Levens recommends treatment, your next appointment will be to get your braces placed, which usually takes about an hour. You'll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 6 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes about 15 minutes. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice.
When you start the active phase of treatment you will have the option of choosing a convenient monthly payment plan. This plan does not have an annual percentage rate, nor do we charge interest. We will file all necessary insurance claims and post insurance payments to your account for you. We offer convenient payment options to accommodate our patients. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. We also offer an automatic debit of your monthly installment on your credit card. This allows our patients to take advantage of their credit card bonus programs and saves you the time and postage of mailing monthly payments. To take advantage of this option just ask for a Credit Card Authorization Form. If the total treatment fee is paid in full by check or cash prior to having your braces placed we offer a bookkeeping courtesy.
